Product Overview

Semaglutide1-4

Semaglutide is a synthetic glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) that functions as an incretin mimetic. Incretins are hormones released from the gastrointestinal tract into systemic circulation and are involved in glycemic regulation. Semaglutide is used for the following indications:

  • Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise
  • Reduction in the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events, including cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, or non-fatal stroke, in individuals with established cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus, or established cardiovascular disease with obesity or overweight
  • Treatment of obesity and chronic weight management as an adjunct to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity
  • Treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease† (MASLD) or metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis† (MASH) in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Glycine5-8

Glycine is an amino acid that can be produced endogenously by the body. It is a structural component of proteins, including collagen, creatine, and purine nucleotides. In plasma, glycine represents approximately 11.5% of total amino acids. It has been studied in marathon runners for potential anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, as well as its role in supporting physical performance and muscle growth. Glycine has also been shown to play a role in the prevention of lung injury, gastric ulcers, and in conditions such as hemorrhagic and endotoxic shock.

Semaglutide1-4

Semaglutide is an incretin mimetic that works on the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor by binding and activating the GLP-1 receptor. It has 94% sequence homology to human GLP-1. GLP-1 medications regulate glucose metabolism after oral consumption of carbohydrates and fats. The drug increases insulin secretion by glucose-dependent insulin synthesis and in vivo secretion of insulin from pancreatic beta cells in the presence of elevated glucose levels. It also suppresses glucagon secretion, slows gastric emptying, reduces food intake, and promotes beta-cell proliferation.

Glycine5-8

Glycine exerts its anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cytokine synthesis, reducing serum transaminase levels and works on decreasing calcium levels inside cells. The cytokines that glycine inhibits are TNF-a, interleukin-6, interleukin-1b. It also increases the levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines including interleukin-10 found in macrophages and leucocytes.

Common 1-3

Most adverse reactions are gastrointestinal in nature and dose-dependent:

  • Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, dyspepsia, decreased appetite, abdominal pain
  • Headache, dizziness, and injection site reactions

Contraindications:1-3

  • Hypersensitivity to semaglutide or glycine or its components
  • In people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or in people with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2
  • In patients who are pregnant

Precautions:1-3

  • In patients with a history of pancreatitis and gall bladder disease
  • In patients with renal and hepatic impairment

Refrigerate at 2–8°C (36–46°F) before and during use. Do not freeze. Protect from light and excessive heat.
