Testosterone Cypionate / Enanthate Description1-7
Cypionate 90% / Enanthate 10% Injection is a compounded injectable testosterone ester blend composed of 90% testosterone cypionate and 10% testosterone enanthate. Both esters are long-acting formulations commonly used in testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for the treatment of male hypogonadism.
This blended formulation is designed to take advantage of the complementary pharmacokinetic profiles of testosterone cypionate and testosterone enanthate, with the goal of providing a more consistent and sustained release of testosterone. By doing so, it may help reduce injection frequency and minimize fluctuations in serum testosterone levels.
Testosterone enanthate has an approximate half-life of 7 days, which is slightly shorter than that of testosterone cypionate at approximately 8 days. In contrast, non-esterified (free) testosterone has a very short half-life of approximately 10 minutes. Esterification significantly prolongs testosterone’s duration of action, allowing for more stable therapeutic hormone levels.

Testosterone cypionate and testosterone enanthate are both esterified forms of testosterone. The esterification occurs on the 17b carbon of the testosterone structure. The esters extend the duration of action and are useful for less frequent, intramuscular, or subcutaneous injections. Once administered, the esters are cleaved, releasing free testosterone into the bloodstream. Testosterone then binds to androgen receptors in various tissues, exerting anabolic and androgenic effects. Testosterone has a role in influencing the development and maintenance of male secondary sexual characteristics, stimulation of muscle and bone growth, and regulation of libido and mood.
