Micronized progesterone is a bioidentical version of the naturally occurring hormone progesterone, processed into micron-sized particles to improve oral absorption. It is utilized in a range of clinical applications within women’s health, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT), treatment of luteal phase deficiencies, menstrual irregularities, infertility management, and the prevention of endometrial hyperplasia in postmenopausal women undergoing estrogen therapy. Progesterone may also be compounded as a gel troche for buccal administration, placed between the cheek and gum.
